Final trailer for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” Released

Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom from J.A. Bayona. You know, that OTHER movie Chris Pratt is staring in this summer. While some have commented that the first two teasers for the movie “didn’t make it look much different than the 2015 predecessor,” the final trailer seems to have quelled any of these thoughts. The mission to rescue the endangered Blue from the now-shuttered theme park is revealed to be a ruse to keep her in captivity and exploit her as an attraction … and maybe something worse.

In the first pair of trailers for the film, we saw that the park’s location, Isla Nublar, is also home to an erupting volcano, which threatens to wipe out both the abandoned park and the dinosaurs that live there, four years after the events of 2015’s Jurassic World. This new trailer shows that we can expect more from the film than an elaborate air rescue: there are people who are looking to save the dinosaurs for reasons other than their appeal as theme park attractions. They want to use them as weapons.

It’s up to the raptor expert Owen (Chris Pratt) and the park’s ex-operations manager, Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), to save Blue from this fate. They’re helped by a young systems analyst, Franklin (Justice Smith), as well as the legendary mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), from the first two “Jurassic Park” movies. Their adversaries — including Rafe Spall and Toby Jones — can also be seen in the new trailer. The romantic chemistry between Owen and Claire remains on display. “If I don’t make it back, remember you’re the one who made me come here,” he teases her, quickly adding, “I’ll be all right.”

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens in theaters on June 22nd, 2018.
